Hundreds of years from now, the last surviving humans discover the means of sending consciousness back through time, directly into people in the 21st century. These "travelers" assume the lives of random people at the exact moment that they die (known by the people from the future), then secretly work as teams to perform missions in order to save humanity from a terrible future.
Travelers TV Series
A team of special operatives, sent back in time from the future, are tasked with preventing the collapse of society. These operatives, known as travelers, enter the body of a 21st century individual moments before the individual's "recorded time of death". This process is referred to as a "transfer of consciousness" and cannot be used to transmit someone farther back than the 21st century. The recorded time of death is accurate to the second because of smart phones, computers, GPS, cameras, social media, and other digital pillars of the 21st century. These devices also provide knowledge of the individual who will be dying, which helps the traveler prepare for the life they will inhabit.
Without proper computing power and the back channels of the internet, the travelers would not have an accurate time of death to successfully occupy bodies moments before death. For example, the travelers cannot stop World War II, because the technology of the 1940s did not provide sufficient data to determine the exact time of recorded death, thus preventing the possession of hosts by a traveler.
The travelers must maintain their hosts' pre-existing lives to avoid attracting attention while performing missions aimed at saving the world from a series of catastrophic events. As the series progresses, changes in the present make significantly unanticipated changes in the future.
- Eric McCormack as Grant MacLaren (Traveler 3468), the team's leader, who assumes the life of an FBI special agent.
- MacKenzie Porter as Marcy Warton (Traveler 3569), the team's medic, who assumes the life of an intellectually disabled woman.
- Nesta Cooper as Carly Shannon (Traveler 3465), the team's tactician, who assumes the life of a stay-at-home single mother.
- Jared Abrahamson as Trevor Holden (Traveler 0115), the team's engineer, who assumes the life of a high school athlete.
- Reilly Dolman as Philip Pearson (Traveler 3326), the team's historian, who assumes the life of a college-aged heroin addict.

"Travelers" Season 3 Episodes
(December 14, 2018)
Episode #1: "Ilsa"
MacLaren, his team and their loved ones regroup at a safe house protected by the FBI, but doubts and betrayals may sabotage the rest of their mission.
MacLaren and Yates adjust to their new partnership while protecting a TV show host whose inflammatory rhetoric about Travelers has led to tragedy.
#3 "Protocol 3"
Certain that his team erased his memory of the previous day, MacLaren retraces his steps in the case of a disturbed youth with a horrific future.
The team learns that Traveler 001 is still alive when the Faction tries to capture him. Doubts about their loved ones worsen for Kat, Jeff and David.
The team attempts to extract a rogue A.I. from a child messenger, but the program expands too rapidly. A new Traveler adjusts to his host.
During an update for historians, one of them dies from cerebral overload and is taken over by another traveler. The faction then breaks in and kidnaps the historians. The team uses a Blackbox to access a critically injured Hall for the location of historians. A Blackbox is a device used to extract information from an unconscious or dying person. Jeff reaches out to police chief to get his job back and is told to help with therapy first. Philip is questioned by the faction. Philip is given time with Kyle as a gesture of good will, who states that he sympathizes with the faction's goal, especially since he just saw another historian die during the update. Faction saves a T.E.L.L. that Kyle provided to gain his support. Jeff reaches out to David to sign his therapy form for him to get his job back. David agrees to help as a social worker with Jeff's addiction, which the traveler doesn't actually have. Hall is able to relay information from when he was tracking his team's historian that was taken and shows he ran into a faction team and was shot climbing a fence. He reveals that it was Kyle and Luca from his own team that shot him. Hall is able to show the team the location of the historians and the team is dispatched. While with David, Jeff receives messenger to meet up at the location for tactical support. Philip is able to escape before being cornered by Kyle and Luca. Maclaren's team shows up just in time to save Philip and kills Luca and Kyle. The team saves all the historians while taking out many of the faction. Hall is told he saved them all and is able to pass away in peace knowing that. Jeff and Carly reconnect. Philip is seen throwing out his yellow pills that historians have to take.
Suffering from a fatal brain disorder, Trevor makes the choice to allow himself to be overwritten as the team races to invent an experimental cure.
MacLaren urges Yates to help him when a Traveler with a mission vital to humanity's survival arrives in the body of a just-captured serial killer.
The Faction sets off nuclear blasts that destroy all of the Travelers' archives outside the US. David, left for dead by the Faction in the last surviving archive, is the only person who can disarm the nuclear device. He succeeds but is exposed to lethal radiation. Kat's suspicions about MacLaren, temporarily allayed, surge again and she throws him out – for her the marriage is over as she feels he is no longer the man she first met. Jeff tries to escape from interrogation by 001; he is eventually found having been walled up. Marcy hopes the Director will send a Traveler medical team to save David but no help arrives. In the moment before he dies, David conveys a message from the Director: "Protocol Omega."
#10 "Protocol Omega"
The other world powers fear the USA planted the nuclear devices, as the USA is the only country where none went off. Protocol Omega means the Director is no longer intervening in this timeline as either the Traveler program succeeded in its mission or it has totally failed. MacLaren, whose identity as a Traveler is exposed, fails to convince Yates that the team should continue to intervene to save lives i.e. run the mission without the Director. Philip keeps glimpsing alternative happy timelines. When Jeff visits Marcy to offer his condolences, she realises he has been overwritten by 001 and eventually kills herself to prevent him obtaining Ellis' backdoor code that only she knows. 001 starts uploading his consciousness to the internet, which would enable him to see everything and ultimately gain control by manipulating events. With the USA about to be attacked by nuclear warheads fired by other world powers, the team theorises a long-shot desperate journey. Only MacLaren has an accurate enough T.E.L.L. to pin-point a destination far enough back into the past. He travels back to the time and day in August seventeen years ago when his host first met Kat. This enables him to meet Kat, and tell her to give John a second chance, drop off a warning about Helios, then be at the World Trade Center soon afterwards, just before 001's arrival. He pre-empts 001's message and instead reports: "Traveler program failed. Do not send 001." He waits long enough to know the Director heeded the message, and the timeline changes. Marcy meets David on a bus. The Director indicates that the Traveler program version 1 failed. Version 2 begins...
